Presentation

Michael's Message, Inc. "A Drug Awareness Program" is dedicated to educating the public and our youth about the dangers of drug use. We present up to four (4) 1 hour programs with a Power Point presentation to students during school hours and then hold a Parent/Town Hall Meeting in the evening. Parents come up and thank us for having the courage and strength to share such a profound message. Some share their own stories.

"Michael's Message" helps students to see the heartache, suffering and devastation caused by illegal drugs. We use a different approach, informing students of the poisons such as Muriatic acid and floor stripper that are used to make these drugs. Michael's Message gives students tools and a better understanding that they can no longer just say "NO", they must help their friends say "NO". To help their friends stay drug-free, they must report drug activity and realize that "POT" is a gateway to other drugs. If they or a friend has strayed down the wrong path, they will have the knowledge and the courage to turn their lives around and become productive in society.

We share about addiction in a way that students can identify. Students come up after the program and share with us about friends or a family member they are worried about. Addiction of a loved one causes pain for everyone in the family. People that are addicted steal from us, they have beaten us, and sometimes the addiction is so strong that they have even left their children.

The impact of this program is monumental. We have shared Michael's Message with just over 500,000 students throughout Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Wyoming, and Illinois since we began on March 16, 2000. We have had the honor of testifying before Congressional Sub-Committee Hearing's on these drugs twice. Our youth face challenges everyday. Keeping up with their studies, working part-time jobs, being involved with family and community events. By staying away from these and other drugs, our youth can reach their highest potential. Our children are our future and we must give them the information to make the right decisions. We speak about character, red flags, speaking up and telling the truth. We have devoted our lives to this message and to saving our youth.

Students have an appreciation of Michael's Message. Students dedicated a full page in their year book to Michael's Message, "A Drug Awareness Program." We spend one day with students and make such an impression that they remember Michael's Message and use the tools in everyday life. We receive many letters thanking us for speaking so openly and honest about this subject. Teachers find that their students want and need to talk about the program upon returning to class.

"Michael's Message" is designed to educate students from 6th to 12th grade and on into college about the devastation illegal drugs cause a family. We also make it know to the students how many young lives have been lost to these deadly drugs.

We share what a privilege our son was for the short fifteen years we had with him. Our strategy is unique, because we relive a true story right there in front of the students. The message is poignant and very powerful, but we also show love and respect to the students.

We assert at the beginning of the program that "We are not here to lecture or accuse, We are here to share our experience of losing a good child to drugs. How quickly life can change without any warning."

There is a reasonable presentation fee per school, for pricing call 772.464.7612. This is a large task, we cannot accomplish this without your support and understanding. We also speak to church groups, civic organizations, and Corporate America.

Thank you.
